In 1945, Otto Johannes Müller founded the MÜHLE business after returning from the war. He crafted the first shaving brushes and designed the iconic MÜHLE signet. Over the subsequent decades, the company evolved and faced various challenges, but remained dedicated to producing high-quality shaving products.

In 1965, Hans-Jürgen Müller took over the growing company, which had expanded to 40 employees and was exporting to 36 countries. However, in 1972, under pressure from the German Democratic Republic, he was forced to sell the business, and MÜHLE became a state-owned enterprise.

After rebranding in 1987, the company focused solely on manufacturing brushes for the state. Hans-Jürgen Müller then became a self-employed brush maker. This marked a new chapter, as in 1990, the reunification of Germany allowed him to regain the family business, which he traded as Hans-Jürgen Müller KG, retaining the iconic MÜHLE signet.

The 1990s proved challenging, as MÜHLE struggled to survive after reunification. Gradually, the company won new customers and rehired former employees, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 1995. The new millennium ushered in a period of growth, as the company expanded its offering to a full range of wet shaving goods, and the MÜHLE brand gained prominence.

Today, MÜHLE continues to design, develop, and manufacture the finest quality shaving products from its family-owned premises in historic Saxony, northern Germany. For over 75 years, a skilled workforce has handcrafted the company's razors, brushes, and accessories, which are used by shaving enthusiasts worldwide.
